iPad, merupakan Tablet PC yang dikembangkan oleh Apple. Apple iPad dapat dibilang sebagai awal dari perkembangan Tablet PC yang lain. Jika dilihat, iPad memiliki desain seperti iPhone atau iPod touch, hanya saja memiliki layar dan resolusi layar yang lebih besar. Hingga sekarang, sudah ada 3 jenis iPad yang sudah dikeluarkan yaitu iPad, iPad 2, dan New iPad (yang sebelumnya juga disebut iPad 3) . Setiap generasi memiliki spesifikasi yang berbeda dan lebih baik. Tentu saja untuk, bersaing dengan Tablet PC dari perushaan lain. Dan iPad ini semuanya menggunakan micro SIM

1.    Apple iPad

Inilah generasi Pertama iPad. iPad diperkenalkan pertama kali oleh Steve Jobs, CEO (yang merupakan singkatan dari Chief Executive Officer) dari Apple Inc. dalam Apple Special Event yang bertempat di Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Fransisco, Amerika Serikat, pada tanggal 27 Januari 2010. Disini iPad memiliki satu kelemahan, yaitu tidak adanya kamera untuk mengabadikan gambar. Tentu saja ini sebuah kekecewaan untuk sebagian orang.

2.    Apple iPad 2

Untuk memperbaiki kekurangan yang dimiliki iPad, Apple kembali mengeluarkan iPad versi baru yang disebut iPad 2. Di generasi terbaru ini, cukup banyak perbedaan yang sangat signifikan. Contoh nya : Adanya Kamera dan kamera Video Call, desain lebih tipis daripada iPad generasi pertama.

3.    Apple New iPad

Inilah generasi terbaru iPad. Sebelumnya, New iPad ini disebut-sebut sebagai iPad 3 tapi Apple menyebutnya New iPad. Hampir sama dengan iPad 2, di New iPad ini mengalami bebrapa peningkatan di Processor, Layar retina display dengan resolusi yang lebih besar yaitu 2048x1536 piksel, 4G LTE, dan kamera 5MP dengan kemampuan HD Video recording 1080p.
